Legally Blonde ii

A short personal review on legally blonde ii the movie.



The sequel - legally blonde ii(2003) was intended to continue the legacy and success of filming the first one. Entitled "Red, White & Blonde", the director and casts were hoping it could do the same "magic" like it did on the first edition but sadly enough, it did not. The expectations were high, especially for millions of legally blonde fans(including me) but apparently, it seems to be quite a failure, in a lot of ways.

Compared to the first movie, legally blonde ii is lacking in term of originality and comedy. And the worst part is that, I found Elle Woods to be annoying at some point although I'm a big fan of her. The character build up is bad and some of the jokes are not even funny. The story revolves around saving bruiser's mom which was held captive for animal cosmetic testing. And for someone that have watched the first blonde legally, the second movie is quite predictable in terms of Elle being a lawyer and eventually winning the case.

However, legally blonde ii definitely had its moments. The storyline itself brings a clear message to the world of how important it is to treat animals respectfully. We cannot use animals as a test subject just to fill our own desire. Another aspect that we can learn from is that we must not accept any kind of bribery as it will affect our life and future. There might be times where people tend to take that same situations and turn it against us.

In conclusion, legally blonde ii is okay to watch but not memorable. Like most of any other sequels, it did not live up to the original. For fans like me, I would have expect a lot more but I have had a few laughs and enjoyable moments. This movie is most likely suitable for those who didn't watch legally blonde i yet, just my 2 cents.
